We have a computerised system for our prescriptions. However, we do ask for 48 working hours to process repeat prescription requests. Repeat prescription requests can be requested via Patient Access, PATCHs, post, hand delivered, see information on our Online services below. To reduce the risk of prescribing errors, prescription requests cannot be taken verbally over the phone.
We kindly request you use the white, right hand side of your previous repeat prescription as this has convenient tick boxes. This also avoids medication errors.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS2) is also available. We can send your electronically signed prescription directly to your nominated pharmacy. Please give your pharmacy a minimum of 48 hours to have your items ready.
Why use EPS?
Repeat dispensing
Some patients may be suitable to have their prescriptions on an electronic Repeat Dispensing scheme (where the prescriptions get sent in batches to the chemist - reducing the need to request to every 3, 6 or 12 months depending on the medications and patients conditions). Not all patients are suitable for this scheme and it will be decided on by the GP or a clinical pharmacist. Not all medications can be on repeat dispensing either (eg. certain controlled drugs, creams, appliances and items with variable use).
Online Repeat Prescriptions
You can now also register to order your repeat prescriptions online.
